(I'm feeling the compulsion to write; I like it.) We are called to tell the truth - even if noone seems to be listening. Yes, we ought to be winsome and humble and loving, but that doesn't negate boldness. I want people to speak truth to me. Am I willing to speak it to others? And not just general truth: "God is good and just; his plans are perfect"... Specific truth: "you are making an idol of [relationships, success, order, knowledge, marriage, yourself]"... How else will we stand firm? How else can we grow?
"See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness."
"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
